My Review:

I really enjoyed reading the stories with Sam, Alyssa, Jules, Robin, Max and Gina.  It was interesting reading one story about Jules still thinking of Robin and then all of sudden I'm reading one where they are married.

Loved the timeline where we find out where each story falls in-between and which year they were released.

Never Go Back: A Jack Reacher Novel Hardcover

Never go back — but Jack Reacher does, and the past finally catches up with him.

Former military cop Jack Reacher makes it all the way from snowbound South Dakota to his destination in northeastern Virginia, near Washington, D.C.: the headquarters of his old unit, the 110th MP. The old stone building is the closest thing to a home he ever had.

Reacher is there to meet — in person — the new commanding officer, Major Susan Turner, so far just a warm, intriguing voice on the phone.

But it isn’t Turner behind the CO’s desk. And Reacher is hit with two pieces of shocking news, one with serious criminal consequences, and one too personal to even think about.

When threatened, you can run or fight.

Reacher fights, aiming to find Turner and clear his name, barely a step ahead of the army, and the FBI, and the D.C. Metro police, and four unidentified thugs.

Combining an intricate puzzle of a plot and an exciting chase for truth and justice, Lee Child puts Reacher through his paces — and makes him question who he is, what he’s done, and the very future of his untethered life on the open road.

Justice for Sara Hardcover

I've finished "Justice for Sara by Erica Spindler.

When seventeen-year-old Katherine McCall awakened one morning to find her beloved sister, Sara, brutally murdered, her whole life changed in the blink of an eye. Kat was named the prime suspect and, on a string of circumstantial evidence, charged and tried. While the jury found her innocent, not everyone else agreed, and her only choice was to go into hiding. But she carried a dark secret with her, one that made her worry she might actually have had something to do with Sara’s death.

Now, years later, Kat is still haunted by her sister’s unsolved murder and continues to receive chilling anonymous letters, but she has tried to move on with her life. Until, on the tenth anniversary of Sara’s death, she receives a letter that makes the past impossible to ignore: "What about justice for Sara?" What about justice for Sara? And for herself? Kat realizes that going back to Liberty, Louisiana, might be the only way to move forward and find some peace. And there’s a killer out there who was never caught.

But the town she’s come back to is hardly different from the one she left. The secrets and suspicions still run deep. Kat has an ally in Detective Luke Tanner, son of the former Liberty police chief, but he may be her only one. With plenty of enemies, no one to trust and a killer determined to keep a dark secret buried, Kat must decide if justice is worth fighting — and dying — for.

Bestselling author Erica Spindler returns with a chilling new suspense novel about a woman who goes home ten years after her sister's murder to find the true killer.

My Review:

Both Sara and Katherine McCall (Kat) lost their parents to a terrible accident when both were young.  Sara has been taking care of Kat for 5 years and only has been met with resentment, loathing and rebellion.

Kat has come back to town to after ten years to find out who the real murderer of her older sister Sara
was.  At 17, one morning while getting ready for school she found her sister beaten to death with a baseball bat.  At this time she was rebellious and keeping a secret - she was secretly sleeping with  20 year old Ryan Benton and believed she was in love with him.

The book switches from the present to the past before and after the murder.

Tell No Lies Hardcover

A series of anonymous threats intended for others puts a man — and everyone he loves — in the path of a relentless killer, in Tell No Lies by Gregg Hurwitz

Daniel Brasher has always been something of a disappointment to his old-money aristocratic San Francisco mother. Daniel left his high-paying job as a money manager to marry his community organizer wife and work at a job he loves, leading group counseling sessions with recently paroled ex-cons. Now he’s ready to move on and start a private practice.

But before he leaves, he finds an envelope in his department mailbox — one intended for someone else that was placed in his slot by accident. Inside it is an unsigned piece of paper, a note that says only “admit what you’ve done or you will bleed for it. you have 'til november 15 at midnite.” The deadline has already passed and the person to whom the envelope was addressed was brutally murdered. But this first warning is only the beginning.

Soon, Daniel finds more warnings in his office mail, to people that the police cannot track down, and to victims that cannot be saved. Daniel's efforts, however, have alerted the killer to his involvement and next he gets a threat of his own. Now, with the clock ticking, Daniel — with no clue what he’s supposed to have done or to what action he must confess — must somehow appease, or outwit, a seemingly unstoppable killer.

The Night Is Watching (Krewe of Hunters) Mass Market Paperback

I've finished "The Night is Watching" the 9th book in her Krewe of Hunters series by Heather Graham.

Product Description

The dead of night

The Old West town of Lily, Arizona, is home to the Gilded Lily, a former theater and bawdy house. These days, it offers theatrical productions geared to tourists, but the recent discovery of a skull, a real skull, among the props and costumes shakes everyone up.

So, who do you call? The Krewe of Hunters, a special FBI unit of paranormal investigators. In this case, it's agent Jane Everett. Jane's also a talented artist who creates images of the dead as they once were. But the Krewe always works with local law enforcement, and here that means Sloan Trent, former Houston cop and now sheriff. His great-great-grandmother was an actress at the Gilded Lily and she's not resting in peace.

Then more remains appear in the nearby desert. As they search for answers, using all the skills at their disposal, Jane and Sloan find themselves falling into danger — and into love.

My Review:

We are transported to the Old West in the town of Lily in Arizona.   The town is known for The Gilded Lady a former theatre and brothel.  The main drag has been restored to it's former glory and it's rumored to be haunted by ghosts. The old jailhouse is now a hotel where you can stay in outlaw cells and you can also stay at the Guilded Lady, dine in a A-Class Restaurant and watch nightly theatrical productions.

Sloan Trent is a former Houston cop who quit his job and became sheriff when his uncle became ill.  He stayed on because he enjoys the quiet life.  When he receives a call that an old skull wearing a wig is found at The Gilded Lady he calls his former partner and friend Logan.  Logan now heads up Jane's FBI team and when Sloan asks for a forensic artist he sends in Jane Everett to reconstruct the skull.

Sloan was a sexy, smart, dedicated, level-headed and well respected.  At first he was quite cold towards Jane but he was attracted to her.  Once he thawed their romance was hot and steamy.

I wanted to bop Sloan on the head at the beginning because of the way he first treated Jane.  He judged her without finding out what she was capable of.

No leads on the children were ever found - until now.

The Last Kiss Goodbye: A Novel (Charlotte Stone) Hardcover

When New York Times bestselling author Karen Robards brought her irresistible brand of hot passion and chilling suspense to the paranormal romance scene with The Last Victim, it was just the beginning. Now her all-new series cranks up the deadly danger and intense desire to the next level, as sexy serial killer hunter Charlotte Stone returns to action in her thrilling second adventure.

THE LAST KISS GOODBYE

Dr. Charlotte “Charlie” Stone has dedicated her career as a psychiatrist to exploring the darkest territory of all: the hearts and minds of serial killers. It’s a job she’s uniquely suited for, thanks to the secret talent that gives her an uncanny edge — Charlie can see dead people, whose tormented spirits cry out to her for the justice only she can provide. This blessing — or curse — gives Charlie the power to hunt down and catch madmen and murderers. It’s also turned her love life upside down by drawing her into a hopelessly passionate relationship with the lingering ghost of charismatic bad boy Michael Garland.

But there’s little time for romance with her supernatural suitor when murder comes pounding at Charlie’s door in the form of a terrified young woman fleeing a homicidal maniac. Saving her life places Charlie squarely in the cross-hairs of a sadistic predator nicknamed “the Gingerbread Man,” notorious for manipulating his victims like pawns in a deadly chess game. And now the queen this psychopath’s bent on capturing is Charlie. Refusal to play will only put more innocent lives in danger. Matching wits with this cunningly twisted opponent will require all of Charlie’s training and expert skills. But even with her devilish “guardian angel”— not to mention her favorite flesh - and - blood Fed, Tony Bartoli — watching her beautiful back, the Gingerbread Man’s horrifying grin might be the last thing Charlie ever sees.

Let Me Go (Archie Sheridan & Gretchen Lowell) Hardcover

Detective Archie Sheridan just has to get through the next few days, then his birthday and Halloween will be over. But with escaped serial killer Gretchen Lowell on the loose, the investigation into the murder of a DEA agent demanding his attention, and journalist Susan Ward showing up at his apartment needing a favor, it’s going to be a long weekend.

Soon Archie finds himself crashing a masked ball on a private island owned by Jack Reynolds, a notorious local drug kingpin. By morning, Archie is back on pain killers, a guest is dead and Archie quickly realizes that little is what it seems. One thing is clear: Gretchen is back, and Archie’s nemesis and sometimes lover has something special in mind for the birthday boy, something she’s been planning for a long, long time. On Halloween Eve, with time running out, and the life of someone close to Archie on the line, Archie knows his only chance is to give Gretchen exactly what she wants. But Gretchen will prove more horrifying, and unpredictable, than Archie could ever imagine.

Back with her most thrilling novel yet, Chelsea Cain delivers the pinnacle of what fans of this series have come to expect: sex, murder, twists, dark wit, and some of the best characters in the genre.

Justice for Sara [Hardcover]
