Cross Fire (Alex Cross) [Hardcover]
I've finished "Cross Fire" the book in his Alex Cross series by James Patterson.
Product Description
Wedding bells ring
Detective Alex Cross and Bree's wedding plans are put on hold when Alex is called to the scene of the perfectly executed assassination of two of Washington D.C.'s most corrupt: a dirty congressmen and an underhanded lobbyist. Next, the elusive gunman begins picking off other crooked politicians, sparking a blaze of theories -- is the marksman a hero or a vigilante?
A murderer returns
The case explodes, and the FBI assigns agent Max Siegel to the investigation. As Alex and Siegel battle over jurisdiction, the murders continue. It becomes clear that they are the work of a professional who has detailed knowledge of his victims' movements -- information that only a Washington insider could possess.
Caught in a lethal cross fire
As Alex contends with the sniper, Siegel, and the wedding, he receives a call from his deadliest adversary, Kyle Craig. The Mastermind is in D.C. and will not relent until he has eliminated Cross and his family for good. With a supercharged blend of action, deception, and suspense, Cross Fire is James Patterson's most visceral and exciting Alex Cross novel ever.

My Review:
Storyline: Alex Cross is investigating a high-profile case which involves two highly skilled snipers killing high profile sleazy criminals without being seen and vanishing without a trace.
Also Alex gets married and Kyle Craig returns. Kyle was Alex's one time friend now his greatest adversary who had vowed revenge and destruction. Kyle has escaped the institution he has been held in which Cross was instrumental in his capture. He has infiltrated the FBI team and is working side by side and inserting himself into Cross's household without him being aware of it.
Kyle can't resist taunting Cross over the phone and leaving him cryptic messages at crime scenes. Cross finally gets married to long time love Bree Stone but what happens next is a thrill stopping event.
Characters: Cross is in fine shape and I'm really glad he has finally found someone to settle down with. Glad to see Bree really loves his family and him. He really deserves someone who understands him and his work.
Really loved the power struggle between Max and Cross over who had higher jurisidiction.
Romance: Bree and Crosses romance is very sweet and loving. She really gets along with his family and is willing to sacrifice herself for them.
Killer: Kyle is truly a great adversary and a monster in this book. The way he taunts Cross and finally whent he showdown comes the way he treats the family. He also gets very lucky with the ladies in this one.
4/5
