If You See Her: A Novel of Romantic Suspense [Mass Market Paperback]

I've finished "If You See Her" the 2nd book in her Ash trilogy by Shiloh Walker.

Product Description

A FACE IN THE MIRROR

Hope Carson may not look like a survivor, but she has escaped an abusive ex-husband and recovered from a vicious assault. Now she endures the painful memories and suspicious rumors surrounding her involvement in the attack. Her ex is a cop, so the last people she trusts are law enforcement officials — and she certainly doesn’t trust how the local DA makes her feel inside.

Remy Jennings should know better. He has no business falling for a woman who he suspects may have a deeply troubled mind. And even if he did make a move, she’d bolt like a frightened rabbit. But how can he deny a burning desire that threatens to consume him? As Hope’s past catches up with her in the worst way, Remy is determined to break through her defenses, earn her trust, and keep her safe in his arms — before it’s too late.

My Review:

This book picks right where we left off in If You Hear Her with the serial killer throws the scent off them onto others.  One horrible night left a deputy dead, Law Reilly was beaten into a coma and Hope Carson was committed, put on suicide watch and only minutes away from being charged.

Remy Jennings the DA is very reluctant to get a warrant because he doesn't feel right about the situation.  Law finally wakes up from his coma and insists Hope wasn't the one who beat him and Erza figures out the situation was set up.  Remy calls Hope's ex-husband a cop to get information about her history but what he learns doesn't add up to his observation of Hope.

Remy finds out that Hope moved to Ash Kentucky to escape an abusive marriage to live closer to her best friend Law Reilly.  Remy is extremely attracted to Hope and he has this need to protect her.  This attraction put him in a conflict of interest because Hope is a suspect in his case.

I really liked how Hope transformed from being a helpless women who was scared of her own shadow to being a more confident and sticking up for herself against her ex-husband.

This book was a thrilling page turner which kept me up all night reading because I wanted to know who was the killer and why he was fascinated by Hope.

If You Know Her: A Novel of Romantic Suspense [Mass Market Paperback]

I've finished "If You Know Her" the 3rd book in her Ash series by Shiloh Walker.

Product Description

A SHADOW IN THE WINDOW

Nia Hollister doesn’t scare easily. She’s returned to Ash, Kentucky, with a vengeance — and with a mission: find the killer who brutally ended her cousin’s life. What she didn’t count on was trembling with desire every time she sees Law Reilly. If any man can help her escape the nightmares for a while, it’s him. But can she allow herself to take comfort in those strong arms when her sister’s killer still roams free?

She may think she’s a bad ass, but she should not have come back to his town. He is watching her — as she slips into Law Reilly’s house, as she storms into the sheriff’s office. These men won’t be able to protect her when her time comes. Timing is everything, though he can’t wait forever. She’s nosing around the woods, looking for his hiding place. Yes, he is watching her . . . through the window . . . in her bed . . .

If she’s not scared, she should be . . . because he is very good at what he does.

My Review:

Nia Hollister is determined to find out what happened to her cousin Jolene so she comes back to Ash, Kentucky.  She decides to stay and to investigate further even though a killer has been killed (it doesn't sit well with her).

Law Reilly has settled in Ash, Kentucky as a writer which suites the quiet and peaceful town until people are murdered.  His first meeting with Nia ended at the end of a gun in the 2nd book "If You See Her" with his friend Hope and it didn't end well.

Nia and Law decide to partner up and flush out the real killer.  She begins to collect evidence that the real killer is still around which stirs up the killer's rage.  She starts to receive threats subtle at first then it escalates to trying to kill her.  Now the killer has everyone in their sights and no one is safe.

Nia is a little firecracker that won't be scared easily, determined, stubborn and head strong.

Law is a great guy that you would want as a husband or friend. He's super sexy and really cares and wants to protect people he loves.

The killer is scary and psychotic because they are rational at first and then something triggers them and they go off.
