Dark in Death
I've finished "Dark in Death" the 46th book in her Eve Dallas series by J.D. Robb.
Product Description
Lieutenant Eve Dallas returns in Dark in Death, by J.D. Robb, the #1 New York Times bestselling master of suspense, and takes on a case of death imitating art.
It was a stab in the dark.
On a chilly February night, during a screening of Psycho in midtown, someone sunk an ice pick into the back of Chanel Rylan’s neck, then disappeared quietly into the crowds of drunks and tourists in Times Square. To Chanel’s best friend, who had just slipped out of the theater for a moment to take a call, it felt as unreal as the ancient black-and-white movie up on the screen. But Chanel’s blood ran red, and her death was anything but fictional.
Then, as Eve Dallas puzzles over a homicide that seems carefully planned and yet oddly personal, she receives a tip from an unexpected source: an author of police thrillers who recognizes the crime ― from the pages of her own book. Dallas doesn’t think it’s coincidence, since a recent strangulation of a sex worker resembles a scene from her writing as well. Cops look for patterns of behavior: similar weapons, similar MOs. But this killer seems to find inspiration in someone else’s imagination, and if the theory holds, this may be only the second of a long-running series.
The good news is that Eve and her billionaire husband Roarke have an excuse to curl up in front of the fireplace with their cat, Galahad, reading mystery stories for research. The bad news is that time is running out before the next victim plays an unwitting role in a murderer’s deranged private drama ― and only Eve can put a stop to a creative impulse gone horribly, destructively wrong.

Secrets in Death: An Eve Dallas Novel (In Death, Book 45)
I've finished "Secrets in Death" the 45th book in her In Death series by J.D. Robb.
Product Description
A new novel in the #1 New York Times bestselling series: Lt. Eve Dallas must separate rumors from reality when a woman who traffics in other people’s secrets is silenced.
The chic Manhattan nightspot Du Vin is not the kind of place Eve Dallas would usually patronize, and it’s not the kind of bar where a lot of blood gets spilled. But that’s exactly what happens one cold February evening.
The mortally wounded woman is Larinda Mars, a self-described “social information reporter,” or as most people would call it, a professional gossip. As it turns out, she was keeping the most shocking stories quiet, for profitable use in her side business as a blackmailer. Setting her sights on rich, prominent marks, she’d find out what they most wanted to keep hidden and then bleed them dry. Now someone’s done the same to her, literally ― with a knife to the brachial artery.
Eve didn’t like Larinda Mars. But she likes murder even less. To find justice for this victim, she’ll have to plunge into the dirty little secrets of all the people Larinda Mars victimized herself. But along the way, she may be exposed to some information she really didn’t want to know.

Apprentice in Death (Hardcover)
I've finished "Apprentice in Death" the 43rd book in her Eve Dallas/In Death series by J.D. Robb.
Product Description
THE #1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER
Lieutenant Eve Dallas must hunt down the deadly snipers terrorizing Manhattan in this fast-paced In Death thriller from J. D. Robb.
The shots came quickly, silently, and with deadly accuracy. Within seconds, three people were dead at Central Park’s ice-skating rink. The victims: a talented young skater, a doctor, and a teacher. As random as random can be.
Eve Dallas has seen a lot of killers during her time with the NYPSD but never one like this. A review of the security videos reveals that the victims were killed with a tactical laser rifle fired by a sniper, who could have been miles away when the trigger was pulled. And though the list of locations where the shooter could have set up seems endless, the number of people with that particular skill set is finite: police, military, professional killer.
Eve’s husband, Roarke, has unlimited resources — and genius — at his disposal. And when his computer program leads Eve to the location of the sniper, she learns a shocking fact: There were two — one older, one younger. Someone is being trained by an expert in the science of killing, and they have an agenda. Central Park was just a warm-up. And as another sniper attack shakes the city to its core, Eve realizes that though we’re all shaped by the people around us, there are those who are just born evil.

Brotherhood in Death
I've finished "Brotherhood in Death" the 42nd book in her In Death series by J.D. Robb.
Product Description
The new novel featuring homicide detective Eve Dallas from the #1 New York Times bestselling author of Devoted in Death.
Sometimes brotherhood can be another word for conspiracy
Dennis Mira just had two unpleasant surprises. First he learned that his cousin Edward was secretly meeting with a real estate agent about their late grandfather’s magnificent West Village brownstone, despite the promise they both made to keep it in the family. Then, when he went to the house to confront Edward about it, he got a blunt object to the back of the head.
Luckily Dennis is married to Charlotte Mira, the NYPSD’s top profiler and a good friend of Lieutenant Eve Dallas. When the two arrive on the scene, he explains that the last thing he saw was Edward in a chair, bruised and bloody. When he came to, his cousin was gone. With the mess cleaned up and the security disks removed, there’s nothing left behind but a few traces for forensics to analyze.
As a former lawyer, judge, and senator, Edward Mira mingled with the elite and crossed paths with criminals, making enemies on a regular basis. Like so many politicians, he also made some very close friends behind closed — and locked — doors. But a badge and a billionaire husband can get you into places others can’t go, and Eve intends to shine some light on the dirty deals and dark motives behind the disappearance of a powerful man, the family discord over a multimillion-dollar piece of real estate and a new case that no one saw coming.

Product Description
Lieutenant Eve Dallas walks the thin line between love and hate in this fabulous 40th thriller from #1 New York Times–bestseller J. D. Robb.
Eve Dallas has solved a lot of high-profile murders for the NYPSD and gotten a lot of media. She — and her billionaire husband — are getting accustomed to being objects of attention, of gossip, of speculation.
But now Eve has become the object of one person’s obsession. Someone who finds her extraordinary, and thinks about her every hour of every day. Who believes the two of them have a special relationship. Who would kill for her — again and again.
With a murderer reading meanings into her every move, handling this case will be a delicate — and dangerous — psychological dance. And Eve knows that underneath the worship and admiration, a terrible threat lies in wait. Concealed in Death (Hardcover)
I've finished "Concealed in Death" the 38th book in her In Death series by J.D. Robb.
The incomparable J. D. Robb presents the latest moving and suspenseful novel in the #1 New York Times–bestselling Eve Dallas series.
In a decrepit, long-empty New York building, Lieutenant Eve Dallas’s husband begins the demolition process by swinging a sledgehammer into a wall. When the dust clears, there are two skeletons wrapped in plastic behind it. He summons his wife immediately — and by the time she’s done with the crime scene, there are twelve murders to be solved.
The place once housed a makeshift shelter for troubled teenagers, back in the mid-2040s, and Eve tracks down the people who ran it. Between their recollections and the work of the force’s new forensic anthropologist, Eve begins to put names and faces to the remains. They are all young girls. A tattooed tough girl who dealt in illegal drugs. The runaway daughter of a pair of well-to-do doctors. They all had their stories. And they all lost their chance for a better life.
Then Eve discovers a connection between the victims and someone she knows. And she grows even more determined to reveal the secrets of the place that was called The Sanctuary — and the evil concealed in one human heart.

Calculated in Death [Hardcover]
I've finished "Calculated in Death" the 36th book in her Eve Dallas series by J.D. Robb.
Product Description
On Manhattan's Upper East Side a woman lies dead at the bottom of the stairs, stripped of all her valuables. Most cops might call it a mugging gone wrong, but Lieutenant Eve Dallas knows better.
A well-off accountant and a beloved wife and mother, Marta Dickenson doesn’t seem the type to be on anyone's hit list. But when Eve and her partner, Peabody, find blood inside the building, the lieutenant knows Marta's murder was the work of a killer who's trained, but not professional or smart enough to remove all the evidence.
But when someone steals the files out of Marta's office, Eve must immerse herself in her billionaire husband Roarke's world of big business to figure out who's cruel and callous enough to hire a hit on an innocent woman. And as the killer's violent streak begins to escalate, Eve knows she has to draw him out, even if it means using herself as bait.

My Review:
Marta Dickenson death seems like a simple mugging gone wrong but to NYPSD Lieutenant Eve Dallas clues don't add up. As she and her partner Detective Delilah Peabody gather evidence it points to the accountant's murder. When there is a break Marta's workplace and her files are stolen Eve knows she has to divulge into the corporate world to pinpoint the killer. With the help of her multimillionaire husband Roarke and her team of fellow cops she will dig into the corporate world of a killer who ordered the senseless murder of a woman. Marta is only the first murder among many more each one more brutal than the last.
I really enjoy how Eve and Roarke play off each other it's very entertaining and fun. They work well together and they somehow figure things out or come up with ideas. The interplay between Eve and Peabody is very funny and hilarious.

Delusion in Death [Hardcover]
I've finished "Delusion in Death" the book in her In Death series by J.D. Robb.
Product Description
It was just another after-work happy-hour bar downtown, where business professionals unwound with a few drinks . . .until something went terribly wrong. And after twelve minutes of chaos and violence, eighty people lay dead.
Lieutenant Eve Dallas is trying to sort out the inexplicable events. Surviving witnesses talk about seeing things — monsters and swarms of bees. They describe sudden, overwhelming feelings of fear and rage and paranoia. When forensics gives its report, the mass delusions make more sense: It appears the bar patrons were exposed to a cocktail of chemicals and illegal drugs that could drive anyone to temporary insanity — if not kill them outright.
But that doesn’t explain who would unleash such horror — or why. And if Eve can’t figure it out fast, it could happen again, anytime, anywhere. Because it’s airborne . . . .

My Review:
The book opens with happy hour at a downtown bar with people meeting and relaxing after a hard day at work. Than all of a sudden the customers and staff first get a headache and then suddenly something horrible happens. Twelve minutes later more than eighty people are dead by horrendous means.
Lieutenant Eve Dallas thought she has seen everything but nothing quite like this. All of the victims killed each other with whatever was close by and it's not a pretty sight. Only a few survivors were recovered and then all report seeing delusions. Eve discovers that everyone was exposed to a deadly cocktail of drugs that is distributed though the air to cause homicidal tendencies.
Eve has to rely heavily on Rorke's computer skills and we see how their relationship has evolved since the beginning to now. Eve has grown so much since then and she listens to Roarke when he finally confronts her about her nightmares and how it affects him.

Celebrity In Death [Hardcover]
I've finished "Celebrity in Death" the 34th book in her In Death series by J.D. Robb.
Product Description
Lieutenant Eve Dallas is no party girl, but she's managing to have a reasonably good time at the celebrity - packed bash celebrating The Icove Agenda, a film based on one of her famous cases. It's a little spooky seeing the actress playing her, who looks almost like her long-lost twin. Not as unsettling, though, as seeing the actress who plays Peabody drowned in the lap pool on the roof of the director's luxury building. Now she's at the center of a crime scene - and Eve is more than ready to get out of her high heels and strap on her holster and step into the role she was born to play: cop.

My Review:
Nadine Furst wrote a book The Icove Agenda based on the Icove case that Eve Dallas lived through. Now it's being made into a movie which Eve and Dallas are checking out. The actors and actresses playing their counterparts are doing a great job with their characteristics and looks they could all be twins.
Eve, Roarke, Peabody, McNab, Dr. Mira and her husband, Mavis and her husband and Nadine are at a gathering with the cast of the movie. During dinner Eve exchanges some unpleasant words with K.T. Harris the actress portraying Peabody in the movie. As everyone is watching a gag movie K.T. is murdered and Eve has to solve the case.
As Eve digs deeper into the case she discovers K.T. was keeping alot of secrets and liked to disrupt her fellow co-stars lives by blackmailing them or coercing them to do what she wanted. Eve also learns secrets of all the other major players and finally figures who the killer is.
This book deals with the deeper development of Eve and Roarke's relationship. Eve is finally coming to terms about what happened in Texas and Roarke is still worried about her and how she changed his outlook since she came into his life.
I really liked how detailed the characteristics of the characters which made them seem so real and I got the feeling of what they were like. K.T. was a pretty nasty person who loved to manipulate her fellow co-stars.
Glad to see Nadine take a more active role in this book and became a hero in helping prevent a character from dying.
Loved the witty lines!

My Review:
Eve was focused and dedicated in these stories. She was very determined to prove enough evidence that the villains were arrested. I really enjoyed the way Eve was very through with her investigation and the way her and her team work so well together.
Roarke plays a very big role in helping and providing Eve with evidence and information to solve her crimes. He also provides some much needed relaxing love making and boy are they hot!
In the first story a very young socialite believes that her lover is a vampire who will make her eternally young and beautiful. Eve and her team visit a vampire nightclub in underground New York.
In the second story Roarke and Eve are attending a party which is gate-crashed by a naked man holding a knife and covered in blood. When Eve follows the blood trail, she finds a young woman ritually slain.
In the third story, it is a locked room mystery set on a ferry boat. The victim and her killer vanish from the ferry.

Treachery in Death [Hardover]
I've finished "Treachery in Death" the 33rd book in her In Death series by J.D. Robb.
Product Description
In the latest from the #1 New York Times bestselling phenomenon, Eve Dallas tracks down those who break the law-including the ones sworn to uphold it.

But Peabody soon stumbles upon a trickier situation. After a hard workout, she's all alone in the locker room when the gym door clatters open; and-while hiding inside a shower stall trying not to make a sound-she overhears two fellow officers, Garnet and Oberman, arguing. It doesn't take long to realize they're both crooked-guilty not just of corruption but of murder. Now Peabody, Eve, and Eve's husband, Roarke, are trying to get the hard evidence they need to bring the dirty cops down-knowing all the while that the two are willing to kill to keep their secret.

My Review:
I highly recommend this series if you love a kick ass heroine, a gorgeous multi-billionaire husband and well constructed storylines and complex characters.
Storyline: After investigating a murder, Peabody decides to start working out in an empty and abandoned gym at Central. After she showers, two cops barge into the locker room and start talking about their role in the murder of an informant to cover up their own roles in an internal racket. Peabody sees and hears just enough to identify the two, and it turns out that one of the cops is a lieutenant who is the daughter of a retired legend on the force. Peabody informs Dallas, who then informs the captain of the precinct, and an undercover investigation starts to ramp up to see just how pervasive the corruption might be. Dallas takes it as a personal crusade to take down the two cops and everyone else who might be part of what's going on, and she starts to goad the lieutenant into taking reckless steps to get back or silence Dallas and Peabody. The action escalates as the pressure increases and desperation sets in to deflect the investigation and to keep everything undercover.
Characters: You get to see Peabody in a lead role in the investigation against the corrupt police unit. She's the central person and has to go against some higher ups and scrutiny along the way.
Love the way that Eve antagonizes the ring leader and her corrupt group of cops. She also has some kick-ass fighting scenes which she whoops ass.
Really enjoyed the scenes between Eve and Whitney and Eve and Webster and Eve.
Romance: I really enjoy the romance between Eve and Roake because they have come a long way from when they first met to now. They have a major argument but they resolve their differences but not before acting like children. The love scenes are always tender, hot and loving.
Killer(s): The ring leader is very manipulative of men using sex, power and money to control her group of men. She's smart and doesn't kill herself. It's interesting how she comes up with how to stage the murders so there wouldn't be any questions asked (but Eve and Peabody know better)!
One of her men has quite the temper tantrum, is out of control and has an agenda to torture and then kill Dallas.
Another asks no questions and is her killing machine. He's quite the big brute and has no remorse.
She has quite the network with key people appointed in different departments and ones she doesn't like are either killed or forced to transfer.
