My Review:
Laurel has been on the run for two years from THE CREW a viscous gang who are set on revenge against the people who wrong them. She has been living in Pineview, Montana with her two children and doesn't want to get involve with anyone just in case trouble comes abrewing. Myles King the sheriff has lived next door to LLaurel and has asked her out a couple of times but she has always refused
Laurel.  He lives with his teenage daughter and lost his wife 3 years ago.  He's very popular with the ladies but he isn't interested in them only in his next door neighbor.

When a real estate agent is murdered in town it raises Laurel's suspicions that she has been found again.  She was in witness protection for a couple of years when the marshall who was protecting them was killed she decided to go on her own.

Her older brother Virgil served fourteen years in prison for a crime he didn't commit and was finally exonerated four years ago.  Her joined "The CREW" for necessity while in prison but they have held a grudge ever since he left them.  Now they want revenge against him, his family Rex aka Pretty Boy his best friend who was also in the gang.  Now Virgil with the help of Rex wants to finally finish the game and end the threats.

The villain INK is from the first book and he truly is a scary psychotic killer who has no remorse and feels nothing.  All he knows is that he must exact revenge against the family who wronged his gang.  The killings are very descriptive and brutal.

Red Mist (A Scarpetta Novel) [Hardcover]

Product Description

The new Kay Scarpetta novel from the world's #1 bestselling crime writer.

Determined to find out what happened to her former deputy chief, Jack Fielding, murdered six months earlier, Kay Scarpetta travels to the Georgia Prison for Women, where an inmate has information not only on Fielding, but also on a string of grisly killings. The murder of an Atlanta family years ago, a young woman on death row, and the inexplicable deaths of homeless people as far away as California seem unrelated. But Scarpetta discovers connections that compel her to conclude that what she thought ended with Fielding's death and an attempt on her own life is only the beginning of something far more destructive: a terrifying terrain of conspiracy and potential terrorism on an international scale. And she is the only one who can stop it.

In the Mail Saturday is hosted every Saturday at Mystery Thrillers and Romantic Suspense Reviews.

I received this in the mail this week.

The Dark at the End (Repairman Jack) [Hardcover]

Product Description

Bound by his promise to Glaeken, Jack has refrained from making any direct moves against Rasalom. But things have changed so there's nothing holding Jack in check any longer. Other changes are occurring as well. Jack is healing at an accelerated rate--much like Glaeken did when he was immortal. This can only mean that Glaeken's time is almost up and when he dies, Jack takes his place.

Rasalom continues to plot against the Lady. Twice she has died and returned; a third time and she will be gone, leaving a clear path for the Otherness to infiltrate this reality. But Ernst Drexler, formerly Rasalom's go-to guy for logistical support, fears he will be left out in the cold when the Change comes. He forms an uneasy alliance with Jack, who is preparing to face their old enemy.

Meanwhile, Dawn Pickering is searching for her supposedly dead baby. The trail leads her to a mansion in a remote Long Island coastal town, where she discovers a truth she could have never imagined.

Now the stage is set for Jack's massive assault on Rasalom. Jack knows he's got just one shot. But it's not just a matter of taking out Rasalom: he also must safely retrieve Dawn's child and minimize collateral damage.

So, he comes up with a foolproof plan.

But fools are always with us ….

Hell to Pay [Mass Market Paperback]

I've finished "Hell to Pay" the 3rd book in her Cavalon and Walsh trilogy by Wendy Corsi Staub.

Product Description

And so it begins . . . again.

Survivors of a serial killer who invaded their childhood, Lucy Walsh and Jeremy Cavalon are married now, replacing nightmares of their terrifying past with joyful dreams of the upcoming birth of their first child. Fiercely determined to protect the fragile balance of their lives, Lucy doesn’t know that her new husband guards a deadly secret . . . or that an Act of God is about to unleash a vengeful fury.

For shell-shocked Lucy and Jeremy, the horrible death of a loved one is a tragic accident. But for a shadowy predator, it’s the first step toward completing a deadly mission that was interrupted so long ago. Now, at last, the members of the Walsh and Cavalon families will pay for their sins, one by one . . .

My Review:
Lucy and Jeremy barely survived an attack by a serial killer during their childhood.  Now they are married and are expecting a child.  Years ago the Cavalon family won a case against the killer and they lost all their assets.  Now they are determined to make both of them pay including their family by killing them off one by one.  First they kill Jeremy's adopted grandma Silvie Durand but makes it look like an accident.  They move into her apartment unaware that someone is watching their every move.

This last book in the series is very fast paced right from the start of the book to the end and never lets up.  The killer is very psychotic and believes that God is on their side and wants them to avenge what was wrongly done to them.

Though the ending was kind of quick and we don't find out the fate of some people who were seriously hurt.
